So I'm going to do something new to my photostream today. Something I haven't done before. I'm going to share something. Are you ready? You sure?
Okay, well, I'm going to give you guys a recipe!
Last night, as I was dozing off in dreams of gorgeous beaches and the rocking of a sailboat, I decided that for Sunday's breakfast, I would make something special for myself. My mother was off at work, and I had the whole house to myself, so I thought hey why not. You guys are probably sitting there thinking "Kamilla, this doesn't look special at ALL". Well, let me tell you one thing. I LOVE being in the kitchen and cooking in general. BUT I'm usually too lazy in the morning to make myself some REAL food, and not the typical turkey sandwich or Honey Nut Cheerios. Today, I decided I was going to make Crunchy French Toast. Try this out! I promise you that you will NOT be disappointed :)
2 Egg whites
Splash of skim milk
1 Tsp. of Vanilla
Cinnamon ( I used lots! )
Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal
1. Whisk egg and egg whites together, and add milk. (I didn't use skim milk. I used Silk Vanilla Soymilk and just skipped the vanilla ingredient since it was already in the milk)
2. Mix in cinnamon and vanilla (if you use normal skim milk)
3. Take a plate and crush the cereal with the back of a spoon ( do not mix it in with the egg/cinnamon mixture! )
4. Take your bread and dip both sides into the egg/cinnamon mixture, and then both sides in the crushed cereal.
5. Cook both sides either on a griddle, or on a PAM sprayed frying pan. Just remember to spray it with PAM cooking spray or any cooking spray that you have. I don't think you want to burn down your house...
6. Cook until the bread becomes golden-ish/brown-ish, however you like.
You can eat this with maple syrup but I didn't have any so I just ate it how it was, and it was deliiiish. I also cut apples on the side because they gave a really good flavor to the sweet crunchy french toast. And the cold apples were a good touch to the 90 degree NYC weather haha.
Let me know if you guys try this out, I'd love to hear your experience! :)
And also, it is very important that you guys eat breakfast on a DAILY basis. NEVER skip it, because it provides you with energy throughout the day. A glass of orange juice is not considered to be breakfast. Yes, keep drinking your glass of orange juice, but drink it with even a tiny bowl or cup of cereal, or a slice of toast with butter. Breakfast is perhaps the most important meal of the day! So please, don't skip it. To the girls (and boys!) who want to 'lose weight'- skipping your breakfast will not help you! It might even DECREASE your metabolism, therefore slowing down your weight-loss process. Eat something small, but eat SOMETHING.
Sorry for the little rant but I believe that this is a crucial issue, especially for teenagers.
11 April, weight 3250 gram
Jake has lost some weight, he was born 3440 gram.
Kraamzorg told me that this weight loss in the beginning is normal, nothing to worry about.
I prefer to give him breastfeeding, and I did not have any difficulties with producing milk, actually the for-milk was there before he was born. To my understanding, drinking should be part of his natural instinct, but unfortunately, Jake did not want to take my breast.
He has not been putting on my breast during the first hour after the delivery. They always say that is the best moment to start, but we missed that moment.
I have to use this KOLF to suck the milk out and put it into a special infill, then give him my milk through this “tool”… I had to do so for two days, I hate to use it… Hope Jake will understand my body soon.
